How to dry fresh fruits

A quick advice if you want to decorate something or if you make candles too and you need something for decoration. Potpurri is a good idea! You don't have to buy, because it is so easy to make your own homemade potpurri!! ;-) Follow my steps.

1. Cut the fruits in pieces and put them in the oven not up to high temperature not low. Turn on the oven about 170 C. About the time you will see. It depends. You should check the fruits every 10' minutes. It needs patience. For 3 apples and 4 oranges I needed a whole afternoon and something more because I was doing a lot things(candles of course) at the same time. I have two pans so I did the same work for 3-4 times, because they need space. You should not put them very close. Do it like the picture. You need to turn them up and down a couple of times cause they deform sometimes, but your home will smell wonderful!!

2. Collect them and separate the good ones.

They must be totally dry (no humidity!) like wood and they should make noise if you drop them down. I signed one for my next creation, because I don't have the HANDMADE stamp I want yet. You will see.

3. The third step is optional. If you have some chocolate colour potpurri (cause you are so a bussiness person) or some not well-shaped, don't worry!! That's better!! Use them and decorate a useless vase and impress your aunt!!

And here is a good one!

That's all! There is another process to dry flowers.
*If something is wrong put it again in the water. Remember! It's a game between hydration and dehydration. If you have more questions just mail me..!!

GOOD LUCK!!

  1. Πολύ ενδιαφέρον... Δεν το είχα προσέξει νωρίτερα. Αν βρω κάποια στιγμή το χρόνο ίσως το δοκιμάσω-φαίνεται απλό!
